Bury the Fallen worried about STD's
Theres a storm brewing and I dont mean that the curry that settles in my stomach this morning wants to take revenge, Its not long at all for SMF2013 so I think its time to introduce Bury the Fallen.
These lads are back and ready to show southport why SMF2013 is the hottest ticket in town.
WHATS THE NAME OF YOUR BAND, AND WHAT ARE YOUR NAMES AND JOBS IN THE BAND?
We are Bury The Fallen; Sean Duffy - Guitars & Screamed Vocals, Ben Middlehurst - Guitars, Jacob Walsh - Bass, Sam Roj - Drums & Clean Vocals
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TOGETHER, AND HOW DID YOU START?
We started as a few mates having a laugh in high school as part of a music project about 5 years ago - we gigged for around a year and reformed with the final line-up around 2 years back
WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM THE REST?
A range of different influences & musical styles blend together to create a fusion of metal, rock, groove and melody that we feel is unique to the world of music - so we find it pretty hard to confine ourselves to a single genre/sub-genre!
WHO ARE YOUR MAIN INFLUENCES MUSICALLY?
A vast spectrum ranging from In Flames, Soilwork & Killswitch Engage, to Alter Bridge, Kiss, Gary Moore & Steel Panther - a little bit of everything good!
WHAT ARE YOUR SONGS MOSTLY ABOUT?
Our Messages EP mainly hits on the topic of the human mind, and the range of different feelings and emotions of a man left in isolation with nothing but his own thoughts and memories, while our newer songs lyrically focus more on a more specific topic - our take on the variety of reactions and responses that would be observed during the end of the world; love, fear, religion, loss, and survival, among others - we like to hit on something that's a bit different and hopefully thought-provoking!
WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG THAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN? Bit of disagreement on this one, but probably either one of our newest songs "Homeward" or maybe even another one we have in the works to be released very soon!
IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN ONE WORD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
We'd probably have to go for our closest hybrid-genre we can think of mashed into one word, so... MelodicGrooveMetal!
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BEST MOMENT / GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT AS A BAND SO FAR?
As a band our greatest achievement so far has probably been recording our debut EP Messages - the reception from it has been insane and we had an awesome time in studio
WHATS NEXT FOR YOU GUYS?
Hopefully more shows, more fans, more songs... Maybe even a full-length album on the horizon!
WHERE CAN PEOPLE FIND YOU TO HEAR MORE? FACEBOOK YOUTUBE WEBSITE ETC. We can be found at www.facebook.com/BuryTF, and also www.reverbnation.com/BuryTF where 2 tracks from our EP can be found, EPs and shirts available at www.BuryTF.bigcartel.com
HOW DO YOU RATE YOUR LOCAL SCENE AT THE MOMENT?
The Liverpool metal scene has produced a load of great bands lately, and gigs are always a good laugh and a great show - they just need more people about to enjoy them!
WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO CHANGE/ IMPROVE IT?
Bigger events with a mix of big names and younger bands, like the Metal Fest, are always a plus and a good way to bring tonnes of different fans together
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON EVENTS LIKE THESE- WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MORE?
Definitely, they seem to gather a huge following and go down great!
DO YOU THINK THAT THERE IS A LACK OF ORIGINALITY OR A WILLINGNESS TO PUSH BOUNDERYS IN METAL AS A GENRE?
We reckon that the best thing a band can do is to play the music they love, regardless of whether it's deemed as being 'unoriginal' or not, but it's always great seeing bands that bring something different to the table, and we like to think we do just that WHAT IS THE
BIGGEST WORRY YOU GUYS FACE AS A BAND? STD's,
mate! They suck!
IF YOU COULD SUPPORT ANY BAND, WHO WOULD IT BE?
For me (Duffy) supporting In Flames or Soilwork would be my perfect show - but really any of the bands we take influence from would be awesome to support
WHO WOULD WIN- GANDALF OR DARTH VADER?
Gandalf, as he looks very similar to our drummer, Roj- and he's awesome!
FINALLY- WHY SHOULD PEOPLE COME AND SEE YOU PLAY?
Cause there is a very high chance that The Roj will get his nips out on stage. And that would be a sight noone would want to miss.

Fear Hate Destroy Added to SMF2013
So, its the 1st of May........and we are still alive wahaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy!!
Its countdown to the Festival time and as its the 1st of the Month, 1st day of the countdown why not introduce a festival 1st?
Fear Hate Destroy are already making waves on various metal webzines and featured on compilation CD's which for a band that has only been together a few months is pretty damn good going , FHD have been in preparation and will be allowing you guys to see this band live first!!!!!
As usual we caught up with the lads to find out more........
WHATS THE NAME OF YOUR BAND, AND WHAT ARE YOUR NAMES AND JOBS IN THE BAND?
We are Fear Hate Destroy, a 5 piece metal band from preston. We have Joel Ayre on guitar and vocals, Bob Hope on vocals too. On guitars we also have Martin Bragg. On bass duties is Jared Dunne and on drums we've got Adam Kniveton.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TOGETHER, AND HOW DID YOU START?
We've been together as a full band for a matter of mere months currently. The band started out as a project by Joel which was mainly based around writing in his studio and just leaving the material to one side. That was in 2010. Eventually the time came about to get a band together to get out and start performing some of this material and developing new material too, and this Fear Hate Destroy was born!
WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM THE REST?
Our general disregard for sticking to a specific genre of metal and our eager willingness to explore into heavier sound with stampeding rhythmic intent, our aggressive but conscious lyrics conveyed in power raps, rhyming, and with death metal vocal dirges.
WHO ARE YOUR MAIN INFLUENCES MUSICALLY?
Fear Factory, Hacktivist, Strapping Young Lad, TesseracT, Meshuggah, Behemoth... Aggressive conscious rap as well as Underground freestyle hiphop.. Loads of stuff!
WHAT ARE YOUR SONGS MOSTLY ABOUT?
We try and base our lyrical content around things that piss us off. This tends to include the 'government' or the 'system'. War, vanity, ignorance, organised religion and overall general oppression of the free thinking mind.
WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG THAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN?
We've all got different opinions but the one we managed to settle on is Rise of the Forgotten, a track about social uprising and change within the face of austerity.
IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN ONE WORD, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Nerdy. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BEST MOMENT / GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT AS A BAND SO FAR? Coming together for our first rehearsal after months upon months of trying to find the right lineup. Everything just clicked into place, like clockwork!
WHATS NEXT FOR YOU GUYS?
Having released our debut EP on the 11th April, were writing new material for our next release now. Meanwhile we want to be gigging up and down the UK and showing the scene exactly what were made of!

HOW DO YOU RATE YOUR LOCAL SCENE AT THE MOMENT?
The scene in Preston has been declining for years now. However, recently there's been a select few promoters working tirelessly to try and revive it. It's working.. But slowly.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO CHANGE/ IMPROVE IT?
We need venues and fans to be more enthusiastic as a whole about live music. We need people to open their minds to a bigger umbrella of genres. We need them to get up off the sofa, stop watching TV and go check out some excellent local talent.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON EVENTS LIKE THESE- WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MORE?
These events are the backbone of the UK unsigned scene. It's events like this that provide UK unsigned talent with the opportunity to showcase themselves to a crowd that they might not normally play to. Which is important! These kind of events are the best way of spurring on local music.
DO YOU THINK THAT THERE IS A LACK OF ORIGINALITY OR A WILLINGNESS TO PUSH BOUNDERYS IN METAL AS A GENRE?
I think it's a bi-polar split. A lot of people are boarding the bandwagon and riding it down until the next trend shift. But thankfully there's also a lot of bands pushing some major boundaries right now. That's what needs to happen. Bands in metal should be constantly trying to hit new extremes and doing things that haven't been done.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST WORRY YOU GUYS FACE AS A BAND?
Not being able to do this for the rest of our life.
IF YOU COULD SUPPORT ANY BAND, WHO WOULD IT BE? Currently, it would be Fear Factory. Out of all the bands we've been compared to they seem to be the most common. And we're all big fans!
WHO WOULD WIN- GANDALF OR DARTH VADER?
We've argued this for hours now, but we've come to a conclusion. It would have to be Darth Vader simply because Gandalf would only let shit go down at the very last minute. By which point middle earth would have probably been death starred anyway!
FINALLY- WHY SHOULD PEOPLE COME AND SEE YOU PLAY?
Well, this is going to be our first gig as a full band. We've been working really hard to make sure it's an awesome show for you guys. We've got a lot of interesting stuff going on in our music and it sounds even better live! We can't wait to show YOU!
